Upright meaning
A painful truth enters the heart because it must. The Three of Swords names grief, separation, and the wound that begins to heal only after it is seen clearly.
Reversed meaning
The blade can be removed, but not by pretending it never entered. Old sorrow may loosen, forgiveness may begin, or pain may be repeated by refusing the lesson.
