Minor Arcana
Seven of Pentacles
Pentacles pauses in the field: effort already spent, growth underway, and the sober question of whether the investment still matches the life desired.

- patience
- investment
- assessment
- growth
- waiting
Upright meaning
The work has grown, but harvest is not the same as haste. The Seven of Pentacles asks for patient assessment, continued tending, and honest measurement of return.
Reversed meaning
The field may be neglected, overworked, or no longer worth the same labour. The player may need to stop waiting for fruit from an exhausted root.
Symbolism
- growing pentacles — Effort becoming visible but not yet fully harvested.
- field — The real condition in which value must grow.
- resting tool — A pause for assessment after labour.
- grain — Ripening, timing, and material consequence.
Lore
The Seven of Pentacles leans on the hoe while seven coins ripen like fruit in a stubborn field. Time is present as a teacher, not an enemy.
In play, it can mark farming, long craft, slow investigation, delayed reward, checking a planted clue, or deciding whether a shop, garden, or relationship still merits labour.
