Minor Arcana
Seven of Cups
A hall of images, beautiful and dangerous and fertile, impossible to navigate without naming what the player actually wants.

- fantasy
- options
- temptation
- illusion
- imagination
Upright meaning
Many cups rise from mist, each carrying a possible desire. The Seven of Cups asks for imagination, but also the discipline to choose reality over spell.
Reversed meaning
The fog begins to sort itself. A fantasy can be released, a true desire named, or one clear cup chosen from too many shimmering options.
Symbolism
- seven cups — Multiple emotionally charged futures or temptations.
- mist — Imagination that obscures consequence.
- mirror — Desire reflecting the chooser back to themselves.
- veil — The thin boundary between vision and illusion.
Lore
The Seven of Cups is the dream-market at the edge of the marsh, where every vessel offers a kingdom, a lover, a beast, a jewel, a ghost, a storm, or a door.
In play, it can stage branching clues, tempting bargains, unreliable visions, wishful interpretations, or a choice that tests whether the player knows their own desire.
