The mind wakes in the dark and sharpens everything. The Nine of Swords names anxiety, remorse, nightmares, and the suffering caused by thoughts with no witness.
Reversed meaning
The night can be interrupted. Speaking the fear, checking the fact, or letting another person witness the worry may loosen its authority.
